You may have heard the old saying, “Many hands make light work.” While that is certainly true, when it comes to volunteering, we see more than that. At Living for Zachary, many hands make a mission come to life.
Year after year, delivering on the mission to save young lives from sudden cardiac arrest wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers who come alongside us in countless ways to ensure more youth and their families are able to receive life-saving services and Living for Zachary can continue to operate with excellence in all we do.
From those who use their expertise to serve behind the scenes and grow Living for Zachary’s impact, to the smiling faces who welcome community members to their first L4Z event, we grow stronger because of the many hands that join together through volunteer service with our organization.
Here are just a few of the many ways Living for Zachary’s Volunteer Team served over the past year:
- Checking in participants to heart screening and CPR training events
- Providing information on sudden cardiac arrest and Living for Zachary during public events and health fairs
- Raising awareness of SCA in youth through Living for Zachary Red Out games
- Greeting and providing guest assistance at the annual HeartBeats Gala
- Assisting Living for Zachary Staff in-office by running errands and performing organizational tasks
- Coordinating private CPR/AED training classes for community groups our volunteers are part of
- Pre-event prep, setup, and planning
- Service through Living for Zachary’s Board of Directors, Physician Advisory Board, Physician Reading Panel, or one of our program or event committees
Behind every Living for Zachary event, program, meeting, and life touched is a volunteer who had a hand in making it happen. To all of our volunteers: thank you for bringing this mission to life through your passion, drive, and dedication. With your help, we are an unstoppable force as we work to save children’s lives in North Texas.
